Rick Goyette, LEED AP, CGP, CAPS, is a licensed construction supervisor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is the principal of Emerald Dream Builders LLC, a custom design/build residential construction and green consulting firm serving the Northeastern US. Emerald Dream Builders is committed to Energy Star as a minimum standard and continues to serve specific niche markets requiring extreme green, complete handicap accessibility, and advanced certifications.
Rick started his career in the US Army where he served during peacetime as an enlisted soldier as a Field Artillery Forward Observer. After earning a Regular Army nomination to the United States Military Academy at West Point and earning a Bachelor of Science, he served again in the Field Artillery as an officer.
Before finding a passion for green building, he worked in varied industries and owned and operated a Landscaping and Construction business. In 2007, he took a position with Homes for Our Troops; a 501 c3 non-profit organization that provides specially adapted housing to severely disabled veterans returning from the War on Terror. Despite motives to give something back to those who served our country with HFOT, Rick found himself on a new path…a green path.
“We find ourselves at a historical precipice. Only time will tell if we ascended or plummeted. Don’t just buy stock in rope…get climbing!” –Rick Goyette
